By removing real-life barriers of feeling trapped in trauma, dysfunction, and chaos, ERSM can help Christ-centered individuals encounter whole-person healing, thus creating stronger, healthier families and communities! Edge of the Red Sea Ministries (ERSM) is a Christ-Centered nonprofit ministry addressing the whole-person through online support, leading individuals to victory over the three foundational aspects of emotional, physical, and spiritual health.

Christian founder Lacy Apfelbeck is passionate about sharing her journey to wholeness and helping others encounter theirs. She believes healing shouldn’t be hard to come by or done in isolation; everyone deserves to heal and be whole!

“I had processed traumas before in talk therapy, yet I still sensed lingering melancholy. At ERSM I learned I could invite Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary to walk through memories with me to experience full healing. I’m learning what that might look like for me and have appreciated hearing about how other people experience this type of healing.

The weekly meetings are helping me to understand that my response to trauma is not unusual. When others share their story I can see how my experience is similar. I look forward to “seeing” my friends each week through our virtual meetings. Using the social media platform “Mighty” has been important to stay connected with the content of ERSM and have a safe place to share my thoughts, feelings, and inspirational quotes, articles, and songs.

Inspiration to look for my “right fit” counselor came from a few of my group members sharing how they found their counselor. For me, I wanted a Catholic provider who offered virtual appointments. It took awhile to find someone, but God blessed me with a person who I’m really connecting with now.

My discipler/mentor gave me the confidence to seek medical care when my depression & anxiety was increasing at an alarming rate. Because of the deep connection I have with her, I knew it was safe to share how I had been feeling. I still was welcomed at ERSM and could connect with her as my discipler/mentor, but I knew it was best to get the professional medical attention I needed.

My journey with edge of the Red Sea begin in November 2022. I was in the middle of a midlife crisis. I was deep in the throes of depression, severe anxiety, panic attacks. My relationship with my husband was suffering horribly and I was afraid it might be over. My doctor put me on multiple medication’s for pain, depression, and anxiety…That’s when I met Lacy and she introduced Edge of the Red Sea Ministries. God’s truth, how to process emotions and grief and how they can get trapped in our bodies causing numerous health problems. So, I highly recommend ERSM to get the support you deserve so you can heal and thrive, not just survive.

Being in ERSM has caused me to stop and consider how I really am feeling throughout the day. Today I woke up, feeling sad, lonely, and isolated.
